Lesson on Social Media

How To Grow Business and Online Presence

A lot of people ask me how to grow their online presence. So I decided to write it all down for you to understand and strategize for yourself and your business. I am not an expert in the department of social media but I am learning every day and exploring more about digital media. I work with the digital world and try to keep up with the speed. So here are a few tips to be followed in the online marketing world.

If you want to grow your business in the digital world, then you need to have accounts on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo, Pinterest, Twitter, and a website. Social media is one of the most cost-efficient digital marketing because it can synchronize your content and widen your digital visibility. Onboarding a digital media strategy will aid you in identifying your target audience and reaching out to them with desirable content. Increased visibility is directly proportional to increased lucrative conversions. A loyal customer base is imperative to any successful business. Considering that customer satisfaction and brand loyalty typically go hand in hand, it is important to regularly engage with consumers and begin developing a bond with them.

Instagram and Facebook profiles are the most important ones. All the others depend on the style of work you do and the type of business you want to set up in the online world. You can choose Pinterest and Twitter to reach out at a global level. Always remember to link your accounts with Instagram so that you can upload your photos in one site which can be shared in the rest. Sometimes the image quality shrinks in Instagram and if it’s a great photo according to you, you should post it directly on FB.

You can also schedule posts on FB for an entire month so that you don’t have to dedicate time for it on a daily basis. To keep your audience occupied while you are away shooting for hours and to get them hooked, upload a few ‘behind-the-scenes’ photos as stories. Social media is a networking and communication platform and hence it is imperative to humanize your brand and create an active dialogue. Customers appreciate this facet that enables them to relate with the brand when they post comments on your page

You can use Snapseed and Square Pic to edit images. These two apps don’t lose picture quality and are also quick and handy to edit.Keep the audience hooked always! (Most of the time) Insta stories keep your audience busy. They look forward to something new. You can do simple relatable things such as taking a random picture, swiping a filter and adding a text to keep them engrossed. Whenever you are posting things in the feed, try to use a good description, add the place and the people if there are any. Initially try to use the popular hashtags so that your pictures can be found when searched for those hashtags.

If you think you might have a copyright issue, then it is always preferable to use your logo on the pictures so that it cannot be used by anybody else without your consent. As you start growing in the domain, as per your business category, try to get in touch with different online and offline magazines, newspapers, news channels etc so that you get more publicity. Try to get feedback from your customers so that others know how to attend pic you are as a brand or a human being.

You can at least post three pictures on Instagram on an average day. According to me, the best time to post pictures on Mondays around 9 .00 am and  6.00 pm, and afternoons during lunchtime. If you are selling products or services, I think it is better to go for a website. The website looks much more professional and is easy to check. Do link your website with other social media accounts so that your followers can follow you and stay updated on your activities. Though social media brings in a lot of footfalls, there is more to be done to increase conversions. SEO or Search engine optimization is imperative in achieving higher page rankings and obtaining traffic to your business website.

Social media marketing is possibly the most cost-efficient part of an advertising strategy. Signing up and creating a profile is free for almost all social networking platforms and even their paid promotions are relatively cheaper than other marketing strategies. Always know your audience and try to evaluate what works. Social media shows you your growth so be careful not to become stagnant. Keep it innovative and real as much as possible. Your brand name should be synonymous with what you deliver. Social media has been a great help as well as a curse for a lot of people; the digital world can make or break you depending on how wisely you use it. Since it is very cost-effective, there is hardly anything to lose. Don’t let your competitors steal your customer base. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll see growth in your business

I am still learning something new every single day as the digital world is huge. Hope we can help each other to grow in a better direction.
